Piper, composer and multi-instrumentalist, Kenneth I MacKenzie contacted bagpipe.news to share one of his new compositions. Kenneth gave us the background and details of the recording, saying: “I was commissioned by Harris Mackenzie’s family to compose a tune for his 90th birthday, which was on October 1, 2022. Harris hails from Stornoway and is a retired Harris Tweed manufacturer.
“The recording has Will Marshall on accordion with drums by Rory Grindlay of Skipinnish. I am also on the lookout for a good piper to give it an airing, as I have been incapacitated over the last few months due to an operation.”
Kenneth released an album of his own tunes earlier in 2022 and it was featured on bagpipe.news here.
